Drama Ministry

Are you looking for a fun and exciting way to get involved? Do you love to story tell as Christ did? Then Drama ministry is for you! Through the medium of the dramatic arts, we in Drama ministry present various skits, plays and dinner theatres that not only entertain our guests but challenge them to see the world differently, to see themselves differently, and ultimately to see Jesus in a new way.

Through workshops, rehearsals and extra-curricular activities, our drama members stretch and hone their dramatic skills in a fun and safe environment, while growing as friends and colleagues. We strive to grow in our skills so our presentations are stronger and we spend time together in prayer and study of God’s word to grow our personal spiritual lives so that we can be a stronger light for our Savior. If the stage is not the place for you than, don’t forget all the behind the scene ways to get involved! From props, sets, advertising, ticket sales to costume making, lighting and sound. You want to serve; you have the heart to serve; than serve with us in Drama Ministry!

Music & Worship

Throughout history, Christians have used the music of their day to convey their love for God. At WEFC, we recognize that people’s personal taste in music varies greatly. We believe that the use of music in worship should unite us as we seek to give glory and honour to God – the focus of our worship. We are a multi-generational church that incorporates a variety of musical styles in an attempt to give everyone a voice in worship. Our goal is to be timeless in message, relevant in style to today’s culture, while maintaining a link to our rich heritage, and authentic in experience and expression. Worship is led weekly by a worship team along with the adult choir and/or solo or small groups participating.

We also believe that worship is not simply a Sunday morning activity such as singing a song or giving an offering. Worship is about dedicating our lives to loving and pleasing God in all that we do or say.

WEFC is a church where many opportunities exist for worship and ministry through music and fine arts. Whether you are an accomplished musician or just starting out, there is a place where you can use your gifts to honour God.

Adult Choir
The adult choir ministers three Sundays a month during our morning worship services and presents a musical on Christmas Eve. Choir season begins in September and runs through until June with weekly rehearsals on Wednesday evenings from 8:00 - 9:30 pm. It is open to all Senior High and older who have a desire to worship, sing, learn good music and connect with a community of believers.

Orchestra
The orchestra plays several times a year. It is open to people of all ages and skill levels, although those who have just begun learning their instrument may find it overly challenging. Rehearsal dates and times vary.
For Ages 15 and Up!
Children’s Choir
The children’s choir meets on Sunday mornings from September through June at 10:00 am (after Sunday School). Children of all ages are invited to participate in this energetic group. They sing several times a year during morning services as well as at special events.

Small Group Music Ministry
Opportunities exist virtually every week for soloists or small groups, instrumental or vocal. A short audition is required. A couple of times per year, larger groups such as our men’s chorus and women’s choir will sing. All are invited to be a part of these groups.

Worship Team
This group is comprised of auditioned musicians who demonstrate a passion for worshipping God and a heart for service. Members of this team of lead worshippers participate during virtually every Sunday morning service. From September to June they meet for rehearsal and prayer Thursday evenings from 6:45 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and on Sundays during the summer from 8:15 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Special Events
Special events such as Gospel Night, Family Christmas Carol Evening, Heart of Worship and Potpourri of Praise evenings allow for a more relaxed but worshipful time to praise our God.
