Joseph found out that the women he was engaged to be married to was pregnant! He knew he was not the father, and it is safe to assume he felt betrayed and hurt. Eventually, Joseph was convinced to wed Mary, and to be the foster father to a young boy… Jesus. Joseph faithfully performed the duties of fatherhood at the time. This Father’s Day, lets think about how Joseph is a model for all men out there who are fathers to children who otherwise wouldn’t have a dad. Let’s celebrate those men, and consider how we can be fathers to the fatherless.
Thank God for Joseph, and his willingness to give up much, which led to a sacrifice that can benefit all for eternity.
