The Lord is my shepherd; I have what I need. Psalm 23:1
As we enter the summer, we begin a new series in the Psalms. We remember that the Psalms shape the language of our prayers. This week, we look at one of the most well known chapters in this book: Psalm 23. The poetic language of God being our shepherd has helped so many, particularly in showcasing the presence of God in the midst of adversity and in "the darkest valley." But what do we really need in these times? This Psalm guides the way we pray and hones our expectations of God so that we may receive the help that he gives.
