The last few verses in Habakkuk have been described as “one of the greatest statements of faith found anywhere.” What do we do when we look around and everything is falling to pieces? The appropriate response is to place our hope and trust in the God who is powerful and faithful. After Habakkuk agonized deeply over the circumstances of life, he was eventually able to say, “yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength.” May God help us to be people of faith in the midst of an evil, lost world.
