Psalm 89

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; faithful love and truth go before you. Happy are the people who know the joyful shout; Lord, they walk in the light from your face. Psalm 89:14–15

In this lengthy psalm, we hear the celebrations of God's love for his people. It's the circumstances and challenges of our lives that make a loving God seem like a difficult idea to maintain. Throughout these verses, the writer considers the difficulty that God's people find themselves in and even questions the promises that God had made in the past. But we are able to rely on his steadfast love - on the promise that his love will continue in our lives.
