We celebrate the gift of Jesus Christ in the Advent season. This is a gift that has arrived to us so that we may be saved from our sins. The Advent season also anticipates the return of Jesus. In the meantime, it can be difficult to feel the favour of God as a present reality. Our text on this fourth Sunday of Advent (emphasizing love) is a prayer that can become our own as we look for the love of God to be revealed in our lives. The restoring work of God finds its motivation in place out of his love for us, his face shining on us.
