In the first part of Ephesians chapter one, Paul used an elaborate, run-on sentence to outline the vast array of spiritual blessings that God has lavished on his people. He was overjoyed by the gifts and privileges that God had freely bestowed on the church. In response, he was prompted to pray. Verses 15-23 describe the profound prayer of thanksgiving and supplication that Paul repeatedly expressed to God. Paul’s request was that the church would be given an abundance of supernatural wisdom, knowledge, and power. The prayer of Paul was for the early church, but it is also for the church today. Let’s pray it!
