The book of Ephesians concludes with an emphasis on prayer as an important Christian discipline (Ephesians 6:18-20). The six pieces of armor mentioned in verses 10-17 are essential for the spiritual battle, but they must be undergirded by the ministry of prayer. Phil Wickham’s song, “Battle Belongs”, captures this reality when it says, “So when I fight, I’ll fight on my knees.” May God be pleased as we reflect on our level of devotion to the discipline of prayer.
