Shout for joy, you heavens! Earth, rejoice! Mountains break into joyful shouts! For the Lord has comforted his people, and will have compassion on his afflicted ones. Isaiah 49:13
Last week, we saw the way that Jesus Christ was revealed as being the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. We celebrate and savour that our sins can be forgiven when we trust in Jesus, but is this the only aspect of our salvation? Does new life in Christ carry further significance and meaning? This week, in Isaiah 49:1-13, we are given the revealing of God’s chosen Servant, the Messiah. He comes to bring God’s salvation that redeems from sin, but also brings a number of other new realities, encouragements, and meaning to our new life in him.
